上村は、世界各地の、主に海で行ったフィールド·レコーディングを中心にサウンド·インスタレーションを手がけてきました。サウンドを軸に、ドローイング、映像、パフォーマンスでのコラボレーションなど多岐にわたる活動は、自身の聴覚や身体性から世界の流動的なプロセスを捉えようとするたえざる姿勢から発しています。
トゥタッチコワは、歩くという行為を通して各地の自然や人の物語を採集し、写真、映像、文章、ドローイングを含むインスタレーションとして展開してきました。並行して人々とともに歩くワークショップの開催や音楽、文章執筆も手がける彼女は、表現を超えて言語や物語という側面が立ち現れるプロセスを重視しています。
「Land and Beyond｜大地の声をたどる」は、それぞれ知床に関わり制作を続けている二人のアーティストによる最新の歩みを発表すると同時に、相互に交差する世界観を知床という土地（Land）から出発しながら、土地と人との関係をより普遍的に喚起しうるもの（Beyond）として、見る側に投げかけます。
本展は、知床や北方圏のリサーチも展開する四方幸子をゲストキュレーターに迎え、三者の現地滞在を含む対話を介して生み出されたものです。

Pola Museum Annex is pleased to announce the opening of a duo exhibition entitled “Land and Beyond,” by artists Yoichi Kamimura and Elena Tutatchikova.
Throughout his career, Yoichi Kamimura has used his field recordings taken around the world – primarily at sea – to create unique auditory installations. Kamimura’s drawings, video works, performance art collaborations, and other endeavors revolve around sound; his extensive body of work reveals his unerring desire to grasp a fluctuating world by way of his own sense of sound, and his own body.
Elena Tutatchikova uses the act of walking as a medium of artistic expression. As she ambles, she collects stories of people and of nature from different parts of the world – compiling those stories into installations made up of photographs, video works, texts, drawings, and other media. Tutatchikova additionally hosts interactive walking workshops and composes works of music and of writing; she transcends the borders of expression, and places emphasis on the process in which language and story comes to life. Both Tutatchikova and Kamimura have a connection to and have created works centering around the Shiretoko peninsula of Hokkaido, located in the northern reaches of Japan. “Land and Beyond” collects the two artists’ most recent endeavors in this region, while concurrently presenting an intersection of their worlds and aesthetics. The land of Shiretoko represents a springboard for this discourse, but the exhibition also goes beyond the region itself – calling the viewers’ attention to the more universal relationship between land and people.
The exhibition welcomes Yukiko Shikata – who pursues her own research surrounding Shiretoko and Japan’s northern reaches – as guest curator. “Land and Beyond” is the product of her and the artists’ discourse surrounding their stay in Shiretoko and more.

14-28.2.2021 Takamatsu Artist-in-Residence exhibition: Days With the Wind | 風の日は島を歩く

この度、女木島にて、エレナ・トゥタッチコワによる展覧会を開催します。
トゥタッチコワは、2020年12月より高松アーティスト・イン・レジデンスに参加し、島民の協力のもとフィールドワークや作品制作を行ってきました。
そこで制作した作品を発表する本展覧会は、二部構成となっています。一部では、トゥタッチコワが島に滞在している間に使ったアトリエでの個展です。ここでは、映像や写真作品のほか、女木島と男木島の島民の物語を集めた冊子を展示します。
二部では、女木島を歩きながら鑑賞者に自ら体験してもらう、詩の展示です。風とともに静かにこの島を辿りながら、言葉を見つけていただきます。
世界が直面しているこの難しい時期に、土地や生き方、島と島、島と人間、人間と自然の関係について一緒に考える機会になればと思います。

II. 島の道を辿るための詩の展示

会場| 女木島島内5か所（専用の地図をご参照のうえ辿ってください。）

注意事項| 場所により、山道など険しい道がありますので、必ず歩きやすい格好、防寒の上、お越しください。また、海沿いの展示は、干潮時のみ鑑賞できます。悪天候の場合は、予告なく作品公開を中止する場合があります。高松港行き船の最終便は17:20発です。乗り遅れのないようご注意ください。
